Christian education for adults is a combination of regular study and special classes. Please see the descriptions below.

Thursday Morning Bible Study

Each year, study begins with a book from the Hebrew Scriptures in the fall and continues with books from the New Testament later in the year. Meets Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 11:00 in the Lawnridge Living Room. Leader/facilitator: Dr. Portice.

Mom's Group (Open to All Women)

This group gives moms with pre-school children the place to develop friendships in the context of Christian study. Meets Tuesday mornings twice a month from 9:30 to 11:00 in the Choir Room; childcare is provided.

Christian Education Opportunity (CEO), Fall

DISCIPLE 1: Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study
As Christians, we have a history of life-long Bible study. The aim of DISCIPLE is transformation, not just information, and calls on individuals to submit themselves to be changed by God's Word. Disciple 1: Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study is divided between Old and New Testaments and takes participants from Genesis through Revelation, prompting them along the way to consider their human condition and become disciples. DISCIPLE has been highly recommended by members and friends of our congregation, as well as by church leaders, and affirmed by our Session. The accompanying Study Manual costs $36.00.

DISCIPLE 2: Into the Word, Into the World
So you have the basics down and want to continue to study the Bible in a group setting. This study proclaims the transforming power of Scripture while teaching Bible study skills that take participants deeper into the Scripture. The importance of keeping Bible study related to witness is reinforced, while participants are encouraged to practice spiritual disciplines arising out of Scripture for the purpose of changing habits and transforming lives. The study also emphasizes the rhythm of coming to God and going for God, of being in the Word and in the world individually and corporately. This study understands the growing Christian as under discipline in community and in ministry to the world. Disciple 2: Into the Word, Into the World approaches all experiences of life as opportunities for faithful witness and services. The cost of the Study Manual is $36.00.

DISCIPLE 3: Jesus in the Gospels

Study the name, the place, and the people and encounter the Jesus who is both hard to ignore and hard to control - an attractive, commanding morally compelling figure as portrayed in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.  This is a 30 week study:  The cost of the Study Manual is $36.00. Pre-requisite: DISCIPLE 1
