Confirmation

Young people in our church family have the opportunity to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and to become active members of the church through confirmation. In the Presbyterian Church we believe that confirmation is a process in which a young person says “Yes!” to the promises that are made on their behalf at baptism. When a young person goes through the confirmation process, they accept that they already are a beloved child of God, and now they wish to formally accept their call to live a life in response to God’s love and grace through membership in the church.

At UPC, we encourage all eighth-graders to explore their faith through our confirmation program.  The philosophy of the program is Nurturing Experiences of Transformation, NET; we are caught by the net of God’s love. Through this yearlong process, students will explore their own questions of faith and life, read the entire book of Luke, and learn a great deal about theology, church history, and the Bible. They will also have a lot of fun! Our confirmation program includes opening and closing retreats as well as classes throughout the year.

To register for confirmation, contact the church office. If you have any questions about the confirmation program, feel free to call Rev. Marianne at 248-375-0400, ext 204, or email her at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
