The Choral Artists of Michigan are pleased to present the "I Was Glad Choral Festival," featuring the CAM Chamber Singers, the Greater Oakland Singers, and your Choral Artists of Michigan.
Unwrap the gift of joy: the shared experience of live choral music on Friday, February 9, 7:30 p.m., at the University Presbyterian Church of Rochester Hills, 1385 S Adams Rd.
General Admission is $13 online before February 8th at 10:00 PM and $15 at the door. Experience a delightful musical journey with works that will make you smile.
We feature the Greater Oakland Singers (GO Sing!), whose vision includes experiencing the power and poetry of song as they develop musicianship and build community. The CAM features works from Herbert Howells, Alice Parker, Hubert Parry, Arvo Pärt, and Sarah Quartel. We are highlighting Parry’s setting of Psalm 122, I was glad when they said unto me. Choirs at Westminster Abbey have performed various settings of “I was glad” in every coronation since that of King Charles I in 1626. The CAM performs this majestic anthem with Jason Branham, Director of Music and Organist at University Presbyterian Church.
